Operational Activities Reporting requirements Section 29 Mining Management Act: Notification of a Serious Accident or Critical Incident Operator must report serious accident or critical incident to the department as soon as practicable Reporting form is available on the DRDPIFR mining forms, procedures and guidelines web page

  3. Operational Activities Reporting requirements Mining Management Regulation 3 Employment and injury statistics Now administered by NT WorkSafe Reporting form is still available on the DRDPIFR mining forms, procedures and guidelines web page

Operational Activities Reporting requirements Mining Management Regulation 4 Quarterly production returns to be provided to the Authorisations and Evaluations Division no later than 14 days after the last day of each quarter Two reporting forms available, one for extractives and one for mines Reporting forms are available on the DRDPIFR mining forms, procedures and guidelines web page

  6. Operational Activities • Subsequent MMPs • Due dates • 12 months after the grant of Authorisation • Whenever changes are made to MMP that require acceptance by the department eg. changes to approved mining method, additional activities etc

  8. Authorisation Granted Common Issues Changes to Operator details Name ABN/ ACN change = New operation No change to ABN/ ACN = Same operation Project area (i.e. addition or removal of titles) Department requires updated MMP and forms.

Authorisation Granted Common Issues Company B wants to take over as Operator of Company A’s project As Authorisation is granted to the operator for the project area, Company B must be issued with a separate Authorisation before it can conduct any work on the project area Even though Company A is now owned by Company B, security cannot be transferred

Authorisation Granted Common Issues Company B wants to take over as Operator of Company A’s project Security held to Company A’s Authorisation cannot be released until all liability has been assumed by Company B Once Authorisation has been granted to Company B, Company A is encouraged to apply to the Compliance Division to have their Authorisation closed out or revoked

Authorisation Granted Common Issues Details needed when submitting security Reference number (e.g. 0123-02) Cheques and money orders to be made payable to the Receiver of Territory Monies (RTM) Credit card and direct debit can be paid over the phone EFTPOS and cash payments paid in person only

  13. Authorisation Granted Common Issues Details needed when submitting security Bank Guarantees must; Be in favour of the Minister for Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources Be unconditional (i.e. no expiry date) Quote the reference number (e.g. 0123-02) Not include titles or project names

  14. Authorisation Granted Common Issues Application for Authorisation and Nomination of Operator forms Operator name as per ASIC Correct title numbers Correct title holders as per TIS Correct box ticked Signed original forms to be submitted to the department. Forms must be submitted annually with the renewal MMP and with any other subsequent MMPs
