    2. Blitzkrieg on Poland Hitler used his new strategy called blitzkrieg or lightening war to overwhelm the Poles on September 1, 1939. Poland lasted one month.

    3. The Phony War As soon as Hitler invaded Poland, Britain and France declared war and began to mobilize their troops. Then for about six months nothing happened!
