  3. CloudSim Software • Installing CloudSim with Eclipse IDE • Integrate it with GUI framework • Manual to download CloudSim with name: “Installing CloudSim with GUI” .

Network Development Life Cycle • Requirements Gathering • Determine needs of: • Business • Users • Applications • Network Logical Design Choose technologies that meets the requirements Analysis Estimate and measure traffic and device utilization Physical Design Apply the logical design to the physical space Installation and Maintenance Implement the physical design

  5. Requirements Gathering: • The most crucial phase in the development process • It helps the designer to better understand how the new network should perform. • What factors make a real difference to users • Is a chance to define, as precisely as possible, what users want and need.

Requirements Gathering (Cont.): • Requirements can come from many aspects of the network system: - User Requirements - Application Requirements - Device Requirements - Network Requirements - Other Requirements • It means that you have to talk to users, managers and other network personnel • Resolving conflicting needs and desires among users groups • Summarizing the results

  8. Requirements Gathering (Cont.): • Understand current environment • Do they have enough storage space ? • Do their applications perform well ? • Are people waiting too long for print jobs ? • Do any network problems really get in their way ?

  9. Requirements Specification Document: • It’s the deliverable from the Requirements Gathering phase • Should clearly and specifically summarize the needs and desires of the organization and users from the network that will develop

Project Scope Statements: • It’s generally define the project deliverables as well as describes the major features and objectives. • A comprehensive scope statement can help you identify changes in scope after the project has started. • And help you plan for any modifications or adjustments that might be needed during the life cycle of the project.

  11. Project’s First Task: • Who is the destination that you want to develop network for them ? • Determine your customer !! • Begin to gather requirements • What are the applications currently used ? • What is the status of users with existing network • Make overall observation and write your notes
