  3. What happens in the Classroom Every interaction is an opportunity to learn about a child Two broad kinds of assessment Formative – assessment for learning - Continuous webcam Summative – assessment of learning – Snapshot – capture ‘now’

  4. What does it involve? Organising resources and time; Planned & spontaneous observations Good quality observations Staff trained to recognise important moments in development and learning – make judgements All staff including TAs, PE (PD), Music (CD)

  5. How do we do it ? • Spontaneous observations; post-its, notes, photographs, assessment wall (CT, parents, TAs, specialists) • Planned observations; organise time and resources - group assessment sheets • EYFS profile – highlighted weekly in books – learning journey, YG assessment meeting – includes both of the above
