  3. MISSION: The mission of the Parkway School District is to ensure all students are capable, curious and confident learners who understand and respond to the challenges of an ever-changing world.

Pick one of the statements and spend a minute reflecting on what the statement means for you as the PLAT representative. • Mingle and share statements in pairs. • Share with three other members. • When you have shared with three other members return to your seat. • At your table • Discuss what you learned about your role as a PLAT member • Write questions you have on a post-it note • Table share one thing you learned and one question you have. Role and Responsibility

To what extent can establishing and following norms support the work of action teams? • Three Post-Its Per Person • On each post-it write one thing you “need” for a successful meeting • Divide into groups at the chart paper and stick on your post-it notes (categorize) • Select 5 items you must have as a group to have a successful meeting • Share with the large group • Select the top five to ten norms from the groups that will become the group norms (have a recorder type or write them down) We’ve just created NORMS – Rules for Working Together Establishing Norms/Working Agreements

Action Items for 2011 – 2012 • Plan, implement, and evaluate high quality professional learning at the school and district level (Goal #5) • Design a plan for district-wide implementation of Professional Learning Communities (Goal #4) • Design the Professional Learning Plan for the Teacher Professional Learning and Evaluation Model (Goal #5) • Determine the criteria and amount for stipends and credit for proposal to the PNEA and the BOE (Goal #6) 2011 – 2012 in Review

  8. Discuss the following: • What has happened at your school in preparation for September 5th? Teachers? Students? Parents? Others? • What would be three questions to ask collaborative team members at the completion of September 5th to gauge the effectiveness of the day? September 5th

Ensure the school secretary who inputs attendance for professional learning days puts the attendance in PEERS (2 hours – state clock hours) • Remind collaborative team leaders to take attendance and give the information to the appropriate secretary • MSPLC attendance is included on the agenda and sent to the secretary of the content area coordinator • Follow-up with principal to determine any additional building responsibilities • Remind teachers to complete the post collaborative team survey September 5th – Role of PLAT Members
