  3. The Sahara’s size • The Sahara covers 25% of Africa and is 3.3 sq. miles.

  4. The three topographical features of the Sahara • Wadis- wadis is a temporary water source located primarily on the mountains • Regs-A reg takes up 70% with the Sahara with red, white, or black sand. • Erg-An erg takes up 20 % full of sand dunes.

  5. The Tuareg • The Tuareg is a tribe in the Sahara. They are known as the best-people and there is only 2.5 per square mile.

  6. Climate and Weather • In the Sahara it doesn’t rain much and barely ever gets colder than 30°F. The highest temperature is 136°F in Libya. The average temperature is 85 to 95°F.

  7. The Sahara’s Eleven Countries • Algeria • Egypt • Chad • Libya • Mali • Mauritania • Morocco • Niger • Sudan • Tunisia • Western Sahara

  8. Their Food • They eat a meal that contains camels milk, dried dates or a millet porrige.
