  1. IB CONTINUUM CONTINUUM DE L’IB CONTINUO DEL IB A Transformation of Learners to Global Leaders School Brochure 2024-25

  2. Dr. Subhash Chandra Advisor and Mentor, Zee Learn Our youth has the power to make a difference in the society. This has marked our arrival as a truly international school with deep rooted Indian values. India has always been a land of knowledge and learning. Centres like Takshashila and Nalanda were much ahead of their times and bigger than Harvard and Oxford. When the world didn’t know about civilisation, we were imparting value-based education through the Guru-shishya parampara. In every child, we see the future CV Ramans, the Homi Bhabhas, the Aryabhattas, the Sachins, the PV Sindhus, the Kalpana Chawlas and everyone else who brings back India’s age-old identity of being the leader of the world. But this is just the beginning. The future ahead is exciting and full of promise. We welcome you to join us in our educational journey towards a better tomorrow. Today, the glory has perhaps waned a little bit. As we stand on the threshold of a world without borders, it becomes important for us to bring the old glory back and integrate our knowledge with an international outlook, simply because, a global education creates more enlightened citizens. I am pleased that Mount Litera School International is making a valuable contribution towards creating citizens of the future under the aegis of Zee Learn.

  3. Priya Anand Head of School From the Head of School’s desk Greetings from MLSI ! access to professional development, and reaching out to parents for support with academic and behavioural concerns to ensure our students are prepared for university and 21st century careers. Let me begin by congratulating each one of you for choosing MLSI as a school for your child. It is with great pride and excitement that I share this introduction to you as the Head of School of MLSI. I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education! I will be working closely with the Management and the staff to guarantee that all of our students are intellectually challenged. Our main aim is to create global citizens who will become leaders for tomorrow. I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than 24 years. As an educator I am very passionate about IB education and have a rich experience of working with the IB in many roles. As your Head of School, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students, and parents-are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input throughout the school year. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns, or ideas you would like to share; our continued success is dependent on your feedback. I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality school experience. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met. I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at MLSI. In order to do this, we will be providing teachers with feedback on their instruction, I look forward to working with you as a team to help each student at MLSI meet their goals and become successful learners.

  4. Our Mission Mount Litera School International will provide students with a happy and secure environment needed for their personal and social development as responsible citizens of the world. Our mission is to provide teaching and learning excellence. We are here to ensure that all students attain the highest academic standards of which they are capable and prepare to take their places as world citizens. We instil in them passion to learn, develop integrity of character, and build up an unflinching confidence in their own abilities to forge ahead despite all the challenges and tribulations that future may bring. We are also equally committed to developing awareness and a sense of sympathy in them towards caring for others regardless of class, creed, gender, religion, culture or any other factor. Our Vision Mount Litera School International is a co-educational day school, which provides an outstanding education through the holistic based curriculum. This is achieved in a friendly family atmosphere that nurtures a community feeling where the emotional, physical, creative, and intellectual needs of all students are met within an international community. IB Mission Statement The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end, the organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

  5. Why IB at MLSI? The IB continuum of international education is unique because of its fundamental academic structure that challenges students to excel and grow through perseverance and rigour. Mount Litera School International is one of the most prestigious IB continuum schools offering three (out of four) programmes in Mumbai. It offers high-quality international education programmes with a powerful vision. With student-centric programmes, it teaches maintaining healthy relationships, addressing ethical responsibilities and tackling personal challenges. IB curriculum has a balanced approach that broadens conceptual thinking without compensating values and we focus on this wholeheartedly. Promote high standards on the international stage focusing on being a world citizen. IB world schools have been in India since 1976. Presently, there are around 185 IB schools offering one or more IB programmes and we are proud to facilitate three programmes. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is equivalent to Class 10 (X) of the Indian education and assessment system, as per the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. We offer E-assessments at the MYP 5 (Grade 10) level, which allow the students' academic performances to be assessed externally at an international level. The Diploma Programme (DP) has been equated with Class 10+2 (XII) qualification by the Indian education board and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

  6. OUR PROGRAMMES PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME (Ages 3 years – 12 Years; EY 1 – PYP 5) The Primary Years Programme aims to meet the diverse needs of students – physical, social, intellectual, aesthetic, and cultural. We ensure that learning is engaging, relevant, challenging, and significant. It is rigorous and broadly classified under the 6 globally significant transdisciplinary themes. They transcend through the 6 subject areas rather than studying in isolation: ????????????? ???? ??????????? ???? ??????? ?????????????? We promote learner agency where students have the power, combined with choices to take meaningful action. This creates a strong partnership between students and teachers.

  7. Early Years (Early Years 1 to 3 / Nursery to Senior KG) Our focus for the early learner is on developing their abilities. With support they are able to plan uninterrupted time for play, build strong relationships, create and maintain learning spaces and engage in symbolic exploration and expression. Moment-by-moment teacher actions, reactions and interactions support co-construction and reflection on practices. Learning is a continuous journey, and learners develop positive attitudes and abilities to take responsible action during this journey. PRIMARY YEARS (Grade 1 – 5) Learning in the primary provides many formal and informal opportunities for students to demonstrate the application and development of their knowledge, conceptual understanding, skills and the attributes of the learner profile. All IB programmes include a culminating or consolidating learning experience in their final year. In the PYP Exhibition, learners demonstrate an understanding of their issue or opportunity they have chosen to explore. Overall, the focus is on the learners. It is student centred, promoting a healthy relationship, ethical responsibility and personal challenge. The learners explore significant content through a curriculum that is broad and balanced, conceptual and connected within global contexts. Learning is a continuous journey, and learners develop positive attitudes and abilities to take responsible action during this journey.

  8. MIDDLE YEARS PROGRAMME (Ages 11 years – 16 Years; Grade 6 – 10) The Middle Years Programme (MYP) encourages the students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, preparing them for success in further study and in life. It aims to develop active learners and internationally-minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning. The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young, creative, critical, and reflective thinkers. Integrated teaching and learning help students analyse complex issues and develop the habits of mind they need to participate in our increasingly interconnected world. The MYP helps students develop both subject-specific and interdisciplinary understanding. The MYP curriculum framework includes: Approaches to learning (ATL), helping students learn how to learn by developing skills for research, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and self-management. Key and related concepts, helping students explore big ideas that matter. Global contexts, helping students understand the relevance and importance of their study for understanding their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet. The programme has eight subject groups and they are ???? ??????????????? ???????????????? ??????????????? ????????? ???? ?????????? ????????? ???? ???????????????? ???????????? ???? ????????? ??????? ?????????????? ?????? ??????????? ???????? ??????????????????? The MYP culminates in an independent Personal Project. Students complete a significant piece of work over an extended period of time, encouraging them to consolidate their learning and reflect on the outcomes of their work.

  9. CORE COMPONENTS OF MIDDLE YEARS PROGRAMME The three mandatory core components that contribute to a student’s educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and understanding are: Personal Project MYP students in their final year explore an area of personal interest over an extended period. It provides them the opportunity to consolidate their learning and develop important skills they’ll need in both further education and life beyond the classroom. It also helps them develop confidence to become principled, lifelong learners. Service as Action Action and service have always been shared values of the IB community. Students take action when they apply what they are learning in the classroom and beyond. IB learners strive to be caring members of the community who demonstrate a commitment to service making a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment. Approaches to Learning Skills A unifying thread throughout all MYP subject groups, approaches to learning (ATL) provide the foundation for independent learning and encourage the application of their knowledge and skills in unfamiliar contexts. Developing and applying these social, thinking, research, communication, and self management skills helps students learn how to learn.
