  2. Christians enjoy the blessing of close fellowship with each other (Acts 2-6) • Christians are members one of another (Rom. 12:5) • Christians are a unified “bond” (Eph. 4:3) Close Fellowship with Christians

  3. Blest be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love; The fellowship of kindred minds is like to that above. Verse 1

  4. The tie that binds is not an earthly relationship, but love (Col. 3:14) • Love that is a sign to all (Jn. 13:34-35) • Love that sacrifices (Jn. 15:17) • Love from God (1 Thess. 4:9; 1 Jn. 3:11,16,23; 4:7,11,12; 2 Jn. 5) • Love that is fervent (1 Pet. 1:22) Christian Love

The tie that binds is a fellowship of minds thinking alike (Rom. 12:16; 15:5; 1 Cor. 1:10; 2 Cor. 13:11; Phil. 2:2,5; 4:2) • Fellowship in benevolence (2 Cor. 8:4), in preaching (Phil. 1:5; 4:15), in sufferings (Phil. 3:10; 4:14), in righteous living (1 Jn. 1:3,6,7) • Love and fellowship are tied together (Phil. 2:1) Fellowship of Kindred Minds

  6. The tie that binds Christians together is like the unity between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Jn. 10:30; 17:22) • One in purpose, in revelation, in action, in love (Jn. 3:34; 5:17-19; 9:4) That Fellowship Above

  7. Before our Father’s throne, We pour our ardent prayers; Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one, Our comforts and our cares. Verse 2

  8. God is on his throne ruling and reigning over the kingdom’s of men (Acts 7:49; Rev. 4-5) • Jesus sits at God’s right hand ruling and reigning (Acts 2:30; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:8; 12:2) Our Father’s Throne

  9. Because God rules over all he is able to hear and answer our prayers through Jesus Christ (Phil. 4:6-7; Heb. 4:16; 7:25; 8:1) • Ardent prayers are passionate, fervent, zealous prayers (Acts 12:5; Jas. 5:17) Ardent Prayers

  10. Christians share their positive feelings of hope, aim, and comfort (Rom. 1:12; 2 Cor. 1:6-7; 5:9; Eph. 4:4) • Christians share their negative feelings of fear and care (2 Cor. 7:5; 11:28) Fears, Hopes, Aims, Comforts, Cares

  11. We share our mutual woes; Our mutual burdens bear; And often for each other flows The sympathizing tear. Verse 3

  12. Christians share each others woes (Rom. 12:15; 1 Cor. 12:26; 1 Thess. 5:14; Heb. 10:34; 13:3; Jas. 1:27; Rev. 8:2-3, 13) • Christians share each others burdens too heavy to be born alone (Gal. 6:1-5) Mutual Woes and Burdens

  14. When we asunder part, It gives us inward pain; But we shall still be joined in heart, And hope to meet again. Verse 4
