  2. Do you know this guy? • My marriage is bad. • My finances are bad. • Work is bad. • Traffic is bad. • The service was bad.

  3. The Gospel Has Something For That Guy. Ephesians 6:15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

The Gospel Requires Something of Us. • Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. • Hebrews 12:14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: • 2 Peter 3:14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;

  5. God Wants To Give Us Peace… • With Him.

  6. Peace with God – The foundation • Most don’t want to start there. • Ecclesiastes 12:14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments,For this is man’s all.

  7. Peace with God – The foundation • God has done His part. Ephesians 2:1-5 • V. 1, Dead spiritually • V. 2 , walking with the Devil • V. 3, children of wrath, cf. 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9 • V. 4-5, God saved us by His grace, cf. Romans 5:10 • We must do ours. James 4:7-8

  8. God Wants To Give Us Peace… • With Him. • With ourselves.

  9. Inner peace comes from God. • Mental turmoil: fear, worry, regret • Americans spend $113 billion on mental health per year. • As Christians, our troubles don’t go away, but we have the perfect way to deal with them. • Walk with Jesus – don’t have to deal with self-inflicted sin troubles.

  10. Inner peace comes from God. • We can deal with our past. • Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace • 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

  11. Inner peace comes from God. • We can deal with the present. • What do I do about my marriage? Ephesians 5:22-33 • What do I do about my children? Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs 13:24 • What do I do about my finances? Proverbs 22:7; 1 Timothy 6:6-8, Hebrews 13:5

  12. Inner peace comes from God. • We can deal with the future. • Hebrews 2:14-15 • John 14:1-3 • Our part – Ephesians 4:1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,

  13. God Wants To Give Us Peace… • With Him. • With ourselves. • With others.

  14. God provides peace among us. • Ephesians 2:11-18 • Galatians 3:26-27

  15. God provides peace among us. We must allow Him to mold us. • Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. • Hebrews 12:14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: • Matthew 5:21-24

  16. God provides peace among us. • Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath,But a harsh word stirs up anger. • Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. • 2 Peter 1:5-11, Galatians 5:22-23

  17. Lay the foundation for peace today! • Believe – John 8:24 • Confess – Romans 10:10 • Repent – Acts 17:30 • Be Baptized – 1 Peter 3:21 • Be Faithful – Revelation 2:10
