  1. Electronic Supplementary Material (ESM) Electronic Supplementary Figure 1.Plasma apoCI is associated with increased survival of patients with severe sepsis independent of lipoprotein core lipids. ApoCI levels were determined in plasma of survivors (grey boxes; n=9) and non-survivors (white boxes; n=8) of severe sepsis, and adjusted for triglycerides (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) levels. The middle horizontal lines in the boxes represent the median values and the boxes represent the 25th and 75th percentiles (interquartile range, IQR). †P<0.01, significant difference between survivors and non-survivors. Electronic Supplementary Figure 2. Plasma apoAI, apoB, and apoCIII do not correlate with survival in patients with severe sepsis. The plasma concentration of apoAI (a), apoB (b), and apoCIII (c), adjusted for their lipoprotein lipids, were determined in survivors (grey boxes; n=9) and non-survivors (white boxes; n=8) of severe sepsis. The middle horizontal lines in the boxes represent the median values and the boxes represent the 25th and 75th percentiles (interquartile range, IQR). HDL-C, HDL-cholesterol; nonHDL-C, nonHDL-cholesterol; TG, triglycerides; TC, total cholesterol.
