  1. Bundling ? Support of Workflow: Workflows will leverage XDS concepts, but alone they are not sufficient. In workflows, there will be bundles defined that are transient or workflow specific. They may result in persistent documents have links with workflow meaning. Epoc: Set of Documents, a consistent period of care, purposereflecting a source care delivery grouping, that will be permanently known by the registry. Submission Set: One should be able to make external reference to Documents directly in Repository, or an entry in the registry.

  2. EPOC Functional definition A set of Documents related to the care of a single patient By one (or more ?) document sources. A period of care Clinical meaning Reflects a grouping intended by the source care delivery Will be permanently known by the registry

Submission Set Functional Definition A set of Documents related to the care of a single patient By a single document source Available for sharing in the XDS Clinical Affinity Domain The Document Registry shall make the documents of a submission set all available or none (clinical decision). Once available, the submission set is unknown (?) to Document Consumers from a clinical point of view (may be useful for administrative needs). Reflects a grouping intended by the care delivery Document Source ?
