  1. The Lovely Bones Jessica Pearce 3-B

  2. Settings • Year 1973 • School soccer field • Corn field (short cut to soccer field from Susie Salmons house) • Club house in the ground • Sink Hole • Salmon house • Mr. Harvey’s House

  3. Characters • Susie Salmon- Susie is a 14 year old girl who gets kill by an unsuspected person • Mr. Harvey- a 40 something man that has killed 8 girls before Susie for the fun of it. • Lindsey Salmon – Lindsey is Susie’s younger sister who is trying to find out who killed her sister

  4. Rising Action • Susie thinks someone is following her through the field but decides that it is just her imagination until she runs into Mr. Harvey. Susie follows Mr. Harvey into a “Club house” he built for all the kids that is hidden in the ground.

  5. Climax • The climax happens while Susie and Mr. Harvey are in the club house. The climax is when Mr. Harvey raped Susie and made her tell him that she loves him. After Susie said she loves him, Mr. Harvey kills Susie and cuts her up into little pieces. The only piece that was found was her elbow and a charm from her bracelet.

  6. I Learned • I learned from reading this book that you may think you know the people who live by you. But you may only know what they want you to see.

  7. Should People Read This Book • I would recommend this book to people because it can show that there is a different side to every story. Normally if a book talks about someone dead it is from the perspective of the person that is alive. This book is different the person telling the story is the one person no longer alive.
