  1. CHILD LABOUR Childhood is about innocence and playfulness. Not all children in this world are lucky to enjoy their childhood. Many of them (children below 15 yrs of age) are forced to work under inhuman conditions where their miseries know no end. With the aim to motivate the students to provide each and every child the right to play with friends, go to school, feel the love and care of parents and touch the beauty of nature, the theme of the school assembly from 11th June - 15th June was Child Labour. Day 1: On the very first day the students were informed how because of the improper understanding forces a child to live a life which he/she does not want to lead. Day 2: On the second day, the students were informed about their rights as a child: Right to survival: This ensures that every child has the right to lead a healthy and happy life and to live in a clean environment. Right to protection: Providing the right to the children to be safe from all types of harm. Right to participation: It means that we have the right to be involved in activities or to share our opinions or issues that are related to us. Right to development: Providing every child the right to go to school and learn and also the right for their overall development. Day 3: On the third day the students were informed about Malala Yusufzai and Kailash Satyarthi who are working for protecting and promoting the rights of all the children. Mr. Satyarthi’s NGO, Bachpan Bachao Andolan, prides itself on liberating over 80,000 children from bonded labour in factories and workshops across India. Day 4: On the fourth day students were informed about the ill effects of child labour. It not only renders a child homeless but also deprives them of the basic needs of life. It forces them to work in harmful conditions which have an adverse effect on their health. Day 5: On the fifth day an appeal was made to the students to fight against child labour and also against those who deprive them from all the benefits of childhood. They were also requested to help every child to lead a happy and memorable life.
