  3. Qualtrics Business Associate Agreement • OSU Wexner Medical Center has put a BAA in place with Qualtrics • BAA’s allow for the collection of HIPAA data • Pending an OCIO Security Review before approving for S4 data

  4. NVivo Renewal • OSU Purchasing completed the NVivo renewal • Codes have been sent out to all active requests • License information is updated in OCIO Self Service • V. 11 is now available • Much improved user interface, installation, and code renewal process • We may not get v.10 codes next year

  5. SPSS Renewal • Codes received 7/28 (hard-fail 8/1) • Tested & being sent to anyone with an incident or request • Available in Self Service • Cost savings of over $12,000 on renewal • SPSS and AMOS 24 now available in Self Service • Sample Power and Visualization Designer codes have been received, as well

  6. Microsoft Office 365 • All items beyond the current process are tentative • Current process: • Undergoing Security Assessment for placement of identities into the tenant • Next steps: • Update to authentication methods • Update synchronization processes • Departmental discussions about employees, needs, and available options to create offering • Ensuring architecture decisions do not have downstream consequences.

  7. Microsoft System Center • During renewal, we expanded the System Center license to include the entire suite: • System Center Configuration Manager • System Center Endpoint Protection • System Center Operations Manager • System Center Data Protection Manager • System Center Service Manager • System Center Virtual Machine Manager • System Center Orchestrator • And all System Center Machine Licenses -Red items are new on our license

  8. Microsoft Select Agreement • OSU’s Microsoft Select Agreement renewed on 6/30/2016 • MSDN and Software Assurance can be renewed now • Several units have renewed • Grace period for renewing MSDN subscriptions ends Sunday (7/31)

  9. Upcoming Renewals • Minitab • Expiration Date: August 30 • Renewal in progress • MATLAB • Expiration Date: August 30 • Hard fail: Sept. 30 • SAS • Expiration Date: Sept. 30 • Hard fail: Dec. 31

  10. SAS Delivery Pilot • OCIO is seeking volunteers for virtualized SAS delivery in the following categories • Undergraduate “intro” classes where SAS is taught or used • Graduate-level research classes where SAS is relied on • A group of Faculty with heavy SAS use

SAS Delivery Pilot • Delivery will be virtual using Microsoft Azure • No code maintenance required by end user • No installation of the software • No large footprint for installation • Most importantly: No downloading 32 GB files to get a product that works on your OS • If you have a group interested, please let me know.

OSU Purchasing IT Update • Mike Dangler is becoming the Senior Buyer for all IT, Jennifer Culp has moved to other categories • Bids in flight now • Enterprise Integration Platform RFP is pending award • OSUWMC is doing a bid for Secure Messaging, which is ongoing • Capital Project Planning software open now • New Financials/Data Warehouse bid opens today

  13. Computer Peripherals Bid • OSU Purchasing is working on a bid for a new contract for the IUC covering: • Monitors • Keyboards • Mice • The aim is to bundle products and deepen discounts on these items • Other items may also be included • Release date is not yet determined
