  3. Advent • a special time to prepare for the birth of Jesus the Saviour, who came to give light to the world • A season of hope and of longing, of joyful expectation and of peaceful preparation

  4. Traditionally we also enjoy activities that bring us closer as a community, that are enjoyable and that help us think of others who may be less fortunate than ourselves. Christmas decorations are one way in which we creatively mark Christmas and bring cheer to our classrooms …

  5. Class Christmas DecorationsCompetition

  6. Classroom Christmas decorations will be put up on Wednesday 5th December during a free lesson. Remember to bring Christmas decorations from home to put up on the day. Be creative… you are encouraged to make your own decorations… be original! The nativity scene should be included in each class. Decorate responsibly… be careful not to mark the classroom walls; no decorations are to be fixed to interactive white boards or projectors. Class Christmas DecorationsCompetition

Judging of the classrooms will take place after school hours by Ms Fleri Soler and Ms Bonett any time between Tuesday 11th and Tuesday 18th December … so remember to leave your classroom looking presentable and beautifully decorated if you wish to win this class competition! The winning class will be announced on Wednesday 19th December The winning class will go on a half-morning picnic with their Class Teacher and Deputy Class Teacher in January 

Spiritual Preparation Spiritual Celebration Preparation through Reconciliation Fr Mark will be available for confession from 8am Celebrating the birth of Jesus in a special mass animated by the Senior Vs at 11am, followed by ‘The Spiritual Adoption Programme’ Graduation Wednesday 19th December

  9. Each class will prepare a 5-minute item of their choice on the theme of ‘Christmas’ to present to the whole school … ALL the class must take part, including the Class Teacher and Deputy Class Teacher … Thursday 20th December at 11amChristmas Concerts

  11. Remember last year’s Christmas Market ?

  12. Last year we collected € 1000 for “Puttinu Cares” and had a good time too! With your help we can beat that amount this year … It all depends on YOU! So what are the rules?

Together with your class mates you must decide what you are going to sell from your Christmas stall… You need to plan this very carefully with your friends… Remember to choose something that is easy to prepare and that other students will want to buy! You are allowed to collect up to €3 from each student in your class This money will be used to prepare your goodies or any other items you wish to sell

Each class is to discuss their ideas with their Prefect, Sub Prefect and Student Council Representative Once you have decided on your product you must inform Ms Fleri Soler or Ms Bonett about your choice Remember to listen to each other ! This is a student initiative so teamwork is important ! Decide who will be in charge of advertising, buying the ingredients or making the items, organising the display etc You can advertise your products on the student notice board from Monday 17th December

On the last day of school the Christmas Market will be held all morning from 8.00 to 9.45am At 9.45am all the stalls must be cleared by students and classrooms tidied Price your items carefully… ideally your product should not cost more than 50c Remember your aim is to sell your product and make money for charity so your stall must be attractive : be creative! Remember to bring money on the day because you will all be allowed to visit the different stalls to buy the goodies or items on sale

During the Christmas Market your Class Teacher and Deputy Class Teacher will help supervise All the money collected from the stalls will be handed in to Ms Fleri Soler at 9.45am Your favourite Christmas Carols will be played in the yard You can bring your cameras and wear casual clothes… remember to bring a Santa hat! Your active participation will help you earn points for your SSC&P
