Aviation’s contribution to the New Zealand economy • Value of the industry put at $10Bn with potential to grow to $15Bn within five years refer www.nzte.govt.nz New Horizons report • Employs directly 23,525 staff • Contributed directly 7% of countries GDP and indirectly 11.8% of total revenue • Domestic sector valued at $5.9Bn and exports $3.8 • Growth rate pa 9%

Training’s economic contribution to Aviation • Organisations headcount 84 • Total Revenue $53m - $38m domestic,$15m international • Employees 700 • Revenue per employee 76,429 – least highest revenue earning sector per employee • Potential to grow conservative scenario – by 2015 contribution $73m…we think this can be accelerated by…..

  5. Growth opportunities the issues Whole of industry approach – one aircraft 4m passengers Whole of government approach – much greater value add from across government Channelling spend The Aviation Academy and leveraging brand New Zealand Increased co-ordination of the quality proposition…..

  6. Flight training reviews Two reviews presently underway • TEC triennial review looking at funding and employment outcomes.
