  2. TSC Mission “To provide a transit industry forum for comprehensive and integrated research, development, testing, training and maintenance of transit standards in order to improve cost effectiveness, customer service and employee satisfaction.”

  3. Organizational Structure • Independent, non-profit organization • IRS-certified under Sec. 501 ( c ) 3 • Nine-member, elected Board of Trustees • Technical Council and Education Council • Technical Working Group and Task Forces for specific standards-related activities

  4. Member-Driven Equal representation at all levels of TSC • Operators (1/3) • Vendors (1/3) • Other (1/3) • University Transportation Research Centers • State and local DOT’s • System Integrators • Consultants

  12. 2001 Activities • Publish Technical Council’s “Bus Stop Inventory Guidelines and Recommended Practice” • Continue to operate “Ask TSC” a web-based service to the transit industry • Implement FTA Cooperative Agreements for Location Referencing and Transit ITS Outreach projects • Assist FTA with planning and programming of all transit standards activities, including ITS standards • Continue to publish Newsletters, email subscriber updates, teleconferences, forums, etc.

  13. Membership Benefits Membership Benefits include: • Participation in Technical Working Group and Task Force activities • Participation in TSC and TSC-affiliate conferences, workshops, etc. at reduced rates • E-mail, newsletter and web-based information services about transit standards

  14. Membership Dues Membership dues are: • Level 1 $25,000 10 individual memberships, 10 votes • Level 2 $10,000 4 individual memberships, 4 votes • Level 3 $ 2,500 1 individual membership, 1 vote • Individual $ 125 1 individual membership, 1/20 vote
