  3. Abus tour about the capital is an ideal way for short trips. Here is the bus called double-decker. It has two storeys, so from the top of it you can see the city center very well. YOU ARE WELCOME TO LONDON!

  4. London is the capital of Great Britain. It is situated on the river Thames. The city is very old and beautiful. Traditionally London is divided into several parts: the City, Westminster, the West End and the East End. There are a lot of places to go. Our excursion starts from the central square of London – Trafalgar Square.

  5. Trafalgar SquareNelson Column It is the largest square of London. It is named in memory of Admiral Nelson’s victory in the battle of Trafalgar in 1805. And in the middle of the square you can see Nelson Columnwith a statue of Lord Nelson on the top.

  6. Trafalgar SquareNational Gallery The main building of the square is the National Gallery.It is one of the best picture galleries in the world. As far as the entrance to the gallery is free, a great many tourists try to visit the museum.

  7. The Houses of Parliament Let`s visit Westminster Abbey, which is situated in the district of Westminster. On the way to the Abbey we can see the Houses of Parliament. The country’s leaders speak at this place.

  8. Big Ben The large clock in one of the towers of Houses of Parliament is Big Ben. You can hear the sound of Big Ben every hour in London. It got its name after Sir Benjamin Hall. He was a tall man, whose nickname was Big Ben. So people know this clock as Big Ben.

  9. London Eye Opposite the Houses of Parliament you can see London Eye. You can take a ride and see London from above.

  10. Westminster Abbey Westminster Abbeyis a symbol of England. It is one of the oldest, most famous and beautiful churches in London. The coronation of all British Kings and Queens takes place here. Many great writers are buried here: for example Dickens and Kipling. The Abbey with its two tall towers is really wonderful.

  11. London Parks Now we will make our way to Buckingham Palace and pass famous London parks. Five of London’s nine royal parks are in the very heart of the capital. They are St. Jame’s Park, Green Park, Regent’s Park, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Each has its own character.

  12. Hyde Park The largest park is Hyde Park. It is known for its Speaker’s Corner, where anyone can stand up and say what he wants.

  13. Buckingham Palace The Queen of England lives in Buckingham Palace. When she is inside you can see the flag over it. In front of the palace there is the Queen Victoria Memorial. Victoria was the first monarch who began to live in this building.

  16. Tower Bridge Now we are passing the river Thames. There are 27 bridges over the Thames and 8 tunnels under the river. The most famous bridge is Tower Bridge.

  17. The Tower of London The Tower of London was built by William the Conqueror in 1066. It was a fortress, a palace and a prison. Now it is a museum. The most famous things in the Tower of London are the Crown Jewels. They have the biggest diamond in the world – the «Star of Africa».

  18. The Tower of London The guards in the Tower of London are called Beefeaters. Ravens always live in the Tower of London. The legend says that if they fly away, Britain will fall, that’s why ravens’ wings are cut.

  19. The last point of our excursion is Covent Garden. It is the biggest cultural and shopping center in Britain. It was officially established by King Charles II in 1670 as a market place. Covent Garden Now it is a lively shopping area with a lot of restaurants and cafes.

  20. By the way, now it’s 5 o’clock. In England there is a tradition: so-called “5 o’clock tea”. You may have it just here in some café of Covent Garden. After a cup of tea you may do the shopping here. Our visit to London has finished. Hope you have enjoyed it. Have a good time!
