  12. The First Day • Wednesday 14th August 2019 • Arrive at school for 9.30am. • Children and adults will meet the teachers in the hall. • Children will be collected from there and taken to the teaching bays. • Collect children from 2.30pm via the school gate next to the Nursery.

  13. Day 2 • Arrive at school for 8.55am (or for Breakfast Club). • Children should enter playground unaccompanied. Playground is supervised from 8.40am. • Collection from 2.30pm. (Opposite the external door of the base)

  14. The first few weeks … • Getting to know other pupils, the class teacher and the classroom • Learning classroom routines • Two initial sounds (phonemes) every week • Homework! • Whole school assemblies • P.E. Kit

  15. Helping your child • Teach them how to put on jumpers, shoes, jackets etc. • Labels on clothes, bags, shoes etc. • Recognisable ribbon or key ring on school jacket. • Encourage your child to look after their property.

  16. Getting ready for School Wednesday 12th June (1.45pm-2.45pm) Teddy Bears’ Picnic – Bring a teddy bear! Wednesday 19th June (11.30pm - 12.15pm) School lunch for each new pupil and one parent/carer.
