  2. Glossary • Biotic- Living factors, plants animals, fungi, protist and bacteria are all living factors. • Abiotic- A non living condition or thing, as climate or habitat, that influences or affects an ecosystem and the organisms in it.

  3. Tropical Rain Forest- A vegetation class consisting of tall, close-growing trees, their columnor trunks more or less unbranched.

  4. In an average year in a tropical rain forest, the climate is very humid because of all the rainfall , which amounts to 250 cm per year. The rain forest has lots of rain because its is very hot and wet. This climate is found near the equator. That means that there is more direct sunlight hitting the land and sea there than any were else.

  5. Thousands of flowering plants grow onto trees so they get sunshine. Their roots are not in soil, and the plants get their food from air and water. Plants that do this are called epiphytes (say epp-ee-fights), and include orchids, philodendrons, ferns and bromeliads. Thousands of flowering plants grow onto trees so they get sunshine. 6. Many species of animals can be found in the rain forest. Common characteristics found are mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians too. Which also includes adaption to life in the trees. Insects make up the largest single groups of animals that live in tropical rain forest. They include brightly colored butterflies, mosquitoes, camouflaged stick insects, and huge colony's of ants.

  7. Central Africa holds the worlds second largest rain forest. Africa contains areas of high clouds forest, mangrove swamps and flooded forest.

  8. The greatest cause of tropical rainforest destruction comes from human activities. Many activities contribute to this loss including subsistence activities, oil exchange , logging, mining, fires, war, commercial agriculture ect.

  9. I would want to visit the biome of the Tropical rain forest because its actually something I'm interested in. To see animals plants that I have never seen before and only exist in the rainforest I have chosen.
