  3. Student Life is support… • Club Leaders & Advisors are invited & encouraged to utilize the office & staff to organize any activity or club matter. Leadership Trainings: Fall Leadership Retreat UC Berkeley Leadership Symposium Leadership Courses & Workshops Event Planning Coaching & Meetings Materials & Supplies Banners & Flyers (Graphic Artist) Mailbox Computers - Printers - Copy Machine Advertising & Publicity (Resources & Approvals)

  4. Office Use Policies • Office Use • Common work space. • Be conscious of volume. • Respect • Computer Use • Computers are to be used for academic & leadership development.

  5. Chartering a Club • Complete Chartering Packet. • 4 Club Officers • 2.0 cum GPA • 1 Club Advisor • Financial Signature Card • Club Constitution • Outlines the club’s purpose, intent, officers duties, election, meeting process & other important information about the club. • If there is a problem w/in your club, refer to your constitution & Advisor to help guide you. • Club Leader Orientation

Role of Club Officers • A successful Club Officers will… • Provide the Advisor with contact information of all officers. • Schedule & notify advisor of club meetings in advance. • Keep good records of meetings (agenda, minutes, budgets). • Ask the Advisor well in advance before planning an activity

Inter-Club Council Inter-Club Council: Coordinating group for LMC Clubs Each club is represented Membership is optional Forum for expression Coordinate events & activities Organize Club Days Monday (beginning 8/29) 3:00pm – 4:00pm Library Conference Room 2 • The Role of ICC Rep • Vote on behalf of club • Represent specific club/organization • Must be present at all meetings

  8. Money Management All student organizations are required to do their banking through the college, and accounting for the funds will be performed by the District Accounting Office. • Monthly Budget Detail • Student Deposit Form • Club Check Request Form • Cash Advance vs. Authorization for Payment • Wednesday/ Wednesday • Cash Advance Reconciliation Form • Must be submitted w/in 2 weeks of cash advance.

Funding & Fundraising • Inter-Club Council (ICC) • Seed Money • Complete ICC Budget Request Form • Advertising Requirements • Funding for events/activities only • Matching funds up to $700 • LMCAS • Complete LMCAS Funding Request Form • Funding for events/activities & projects, etc. • No limit on funding amount • Donations • Must be coordinated w/Foundation Office • Complete Gift Acceptance Form

Reserving Facilities • Use of Facilities • Scheduling the use of facilities is permitted for chartered clubs • Meetings • Events • Advisor submits Staff Use of Facilities Form • Include Club Name • Advisor MUST be present during use. • Tabling in Quad (indoor & outdoor) • Club Officer can schedule with Student Life Office • Schedule 1 week in advance.

  11. Event Planning • All club events & activities are subject to approval of the Office of Student Life. • Attendance of more than 75 people is expected. • Event is held after 9:00pm during the week. • Event is held after 5:00pm on Friday or during the weekend. • Event/Activity is off campus

  12. Advertising & Publicity • Promote & publicize information about your club & it’s activities. • The Advertiser • Publicizing On-Campus • Student Life E-Newsletter • Bulletin Board Guidelines • Banners/Flyers Request
