  14. NEVER DO… NO NEED TO DO • High School is a thing of the past. High school awards or honors may stay on resume until you have three non HS related things to replace them • No need to put “references available” Have them ready in an interview, but do not put the line on the resume

By your Junior year… • Do a web search on your name… what pops up? • Google, and all other search engines • Facebook, MySpace • Keep an ongoing list of skills as you develop them (throughout college) • Do community service or volunteer work as often as time permits, keep track of names, dates and locations
