  3. Schulnik is a contemporary Painter She uses a technique called Impasto im·pas·to– the laying on of paint thickly

  4. Schulnikis influenced by many different every day things for her work Such as: Dance, Musical theatre, Film, Music, and Cartoons

  5. Many of Schulnik’s characters have slumped postures Schulnikworks from drawings and photos of friends/loved ones Whether her painting is animal or human-like, they are built upon a human frame

  6. The subjects in Schulnik’s work usually stare back at the audience, studying us as we are studying them.

  7. Her characters often give off a discomforting or creepy atmosphere However, there is also a sense of compassion, understanding and hopefulness for her subjects as well
