  5. THE BYTE TABLE • KB= Kilobyte • 1,000 bytes • MG= Megabyte • 1,000,000 bytes • GB= Gigabyte • 1,000,000,000 bytes • TB= Terabyte • 1,000,000,000,000 bytes

  6. SO If a computer has 64MB of RAM…..

  7. THIS MEANS

  8. The computer can handle….

  9. 64 X 100,000= 64,000,000 bytes (64 million) IT’S AS EASY AS THAT!

  10. Let’s break it down more 8 bits = 1 byte Assume one word = 1 byte

  11. Then in the • example you could • have a file that • stored 64,000,000 • words..

  12. That would be a H U GE FILE
