  1. Model Exchange TFVasteras, June 12, 2008 Jay Britton jay.britton@areva-td.com

  2. Agenda • Primary Topic: UCTE Model Exchange Project • Chavdar Ivanov, Erik Wolfs • Review requirements • Develop action plan for working with CIM • Make sure that UCTE extensions are consistent with requirements for other interconnections • Nordel, for example

  3. UCTE TSO Upload/DownloadCIM Interface Proposal • Initialization Files (1 per day or as changed) • 452 CIM/XML model exchange – full model authority set • Include physical connectivity, electrical characteristics • Omit load, generation, regulation targets, etc. • Case Specification Files (n cases per day) • 452 Incremental model update • Header specifies time of day and case sequence number • Body of case is usually null because configuration often doesn’t change • 45x CIM/XML Topology result • Buses • Equipment status (in or out of service) • 45y CIM/XML scheduled value exchange • Load at consumers • Generation at generators • Regulation targets • 45z CIM/XML solution value exchange? • Solved voltages • Solved taps • Solved generation • X-node Files (exchanged when changed) • 452 CIM/XML model exchange – full model authority set • One set for each pair of TSOs that have ties • All files governed by 552.

  4. Discussion Items • New UCTE model • Separates units and loads and shunts • Separates equivalents • Transformers • Should we move to 2-w object separate from 3-w object? • General review of model adequacy is needed. • Nodes • Retaining consistent bus names • Nodes are TopologyNode in CIM – output of topology processing • Load, gen, limits, etc. assembled for topologynodes.

  5. Action Plan • 16/6 – Discuss necessary new interfaces in WG13 and provide scope statements to guide UCTE development. • 11/7 – UCTE will prepare requirements document. • 18/9 – First draft of interface profiles (including CIM extensions) will be produced for each interface by the joint working group: • Erik Wolfs (Elia) • Chavdar Ivanov (UCTE) • Jay Britton (AREVA) • Lars-Ola Osterlund (ABB) • Patrick Panciatici (RTE) • Michael Barlow (Siemens-PTI) • Eric Lambert (EDF R&D) • Maurice Adriaensen (KEMA) • Ernst Wierenga (Tennet) • Discussion and iterations of documents. • 3/10 – WG13 Seoul Meeting will review and comment on current draft profiles. • Further revision… • 1/11 – UCTE to CIM converter produced by EDF to produce test case. • 31/12 – Target date for prototype of CIM exchange.
