FORMATION Lead 600’-700’ Read XL Barely Read Tail # 200’ | 300’ 2nd Window In Front of Engine Stinger Light in Opposite Engine Bottom of Engine Rests on Wing Wing Visual position • Black stripe-middle engine (up/down) • Stinger light opposite engine (left /right) • Letters XL clear but barely make out tail number • Approximately .2 DME (front/back) • 200’-300’ to the side and approx 600’-700’ back

  7. FORMATION Lead 600’-4000’ .2-.8 DME Wing Offset position • .2 -.8 DME semi-circle • 600-4000 ft. • Optimal position is a 30-45 degree aspect wedge • Stay within 1 mile and 100 ft for standard formation.

  8. FORMATION 600’-4000’ Lead .2-.8 DME 45º 45º 30º 30º Wing Optimum Offset position • 600-4000 ft. • 30-45 degree cone • 45º = wingtip on lead’s nose • 30º = stall fence on lead’s nose
