  3. Core MU Objective “Record and chart changes in the following vital signs: Height, weight, and blood pressure and calculate and display body mass index (BMI) for ages 2 and older, plot and display growth charts for children 2-20 years, including BMI.” - 42 CFR Part 495.6,(d)(8)(i) Vital Signs

  4. Applicability • Eligible Professionals (EP) • Eligible Hospitals • Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) Vital Signs

  5. Training Objectives • Record and chart changes in vital signs: • Height • Weight • Blood Pressure • Calculate and display body mass index (BMI) for ages 2 and older. • Plot and display growth charts for children 2-20 years, including BMI. Vital Signs

  6. MU Measure Type of Measure: Rate Vital Signs

  7. Threshold For more than 50% of all unique patients age 2 and older seen by the provider during the EHR reporting period, height, weight, and blood pressure are recorded as structured data. Vital Signs

  8. RPMS Reporting Logic Denominator Inclusions: COUNT: each patient who is 2 years old or older at the beginning of the EHR reporting period HAVING: one or more face-to-face visits with the provider during the EHR reporting period Vital Signs

  9. RPMS Reporting Logic Numerator Inclusions: COUNT: each patient in the Denominator WHERE: structured data is present during the EHR reporting period for each of the following data elements: • Height • Weight • Blood Pressure Vital Signs

  10. RPMS Reporting Logic Measure Exclusion: • EPs who see no patients who were two years old or older at the beginning of the EHR reporting period are excluded from this measure. • No exclusion for eligible hospitals and CAHs. Vital Signs

  11. Configure RPMS During our how-to session we will: • Configure the EHR Vitals tab for data entry. • Create a template for measurement display. • Assign data entry permission to providers. Vital Signs

  12. Evidence of Functionality During our how-to session we will: • Verify that required vital signs can be entered on the EHR Vitals tab. Vital Signs
