Public finance and economics • Years covered 2000, 2007 and 2009 • New indicators on using SNA data : • government outsourcing • final consumption of goods and services by government and households • government investment • size of government procurement • size of fiscal assets • government deficits/surpluses • government debt • fiscal sustainability - projections from ECO
Issues • Harmonization of public expenditures and public employment data • How can we collect data on ICT expenditures in general government? • Availability of second level COFOG data • Moving from general government to public sector
OECD indicators on e-government performance • Data on the cost of developing e‑government are needed to appraise governments’ performance • Would like to start with data collection on total expenditures on ICT (capital, compensation, intermediate consumption ) in central government • Complexity of gathering this type of data: public accounts and ICT expenditures are organised differently in the various OECD countries
Timetable • Consultation with STD on draft public finance chapter in December, 2010 • First draft G@G 2011 to be sent to PGC and CSTAT members before Christmas 2010 • Comments expected back by end of January , 2011 • Final draft to print : March 1, 2011
