Promoting Palestinian Midwifery and Health Awareness: The Middle East Project

The Middle East Project presents the efforts of Palestinian midwives and volunteers to raise health awareness among women in Palestine. Initiatives include open houses and the innovative Skin to Skin project, started by Aisha and Lesley in May 2008. They aim to educate professionals in Hebrew and Arabic, focusing on the importance of mother-infant bonding. Ongoing collaboration with local NGOs, fundraising efforts, and community engagement are essential to overcoming challenges such as lack of trust and short-term project impacts. Together, they aspire to enhance maternal and child health in the region.

  7. Skin to skin project Aisha & Lesley have started this project at May 2008. They have been to an international conference together! Now they plan on spreading the word, how important is Skin To Skin. They want to continue educating professional personnel on this issue. In Hebrew and in Arabic!
