Bulgarian INIS centre – main activities • Bulgaria is a member of INIS since its establishment in 1970 • Bulgarian INIS centre: • fulfills all INIS responsibilities – input preparation, system promotion, search in INIS database • deals and manages with all type of nuclear information • participates (collects papers and promote INIS products) in conferences in the field of nuclear science and applications in Bulgaria • participates in the INIS system development • cooperates with INIS Secretariat and other INIS centres • manages NRA library - about 2500 titles, mostly IAEA publications 35-th Consultative Meeting of INIS Liaison Officers, 28-29 October, 2010,Vienna Austria

Bulgarian INIS centre – main activities (2) Cooperation with INIS Secretariat: Bulgarian INIS Centre: • Has long traditions in cooperation with INIS Secretariat. • Active participates in INIS evens and activities (Training Seminars, ILO Meetings, Joint INIS/ETDE Technical Committee, Distance Learning Program ect.) • Relies on INIS Secretariat support in input preparation (bibliographic part and subject analyses) • Supports the INIS Secretariat initiatives like: INIS NCL Document Delivery Services, Voluntary Input; CAI Testing, INIS Consortium to access online journals ect. 35-th Consultative Meeting of INIS Liaison Officers, 28-29 October, 2010,Vienna Austria

Selection of relevant Literature • All the literature in the scope of the database to which at least one appropriate subject categorycan be assigned • 2.Subject ClassificationThe primary subject category determined by the main topic of the document If there are other significant topics, one or more secondary subject categories can be assigned in addition • 3. Abstracting • Each input item contains an English abstract which should be informative whenever possible • 4. Challenges: • 1.There is some relevant literature that is not being captured for the INISDatabase due to: • limited financial and human resources • theses and conference papers are difficult to obtain • 2. Need for specialists in differentsubject areas(one person can't have qualifications in all topics which are in the scope of INIS”) • 3. Identifying new INIS products users and input sources • 4.
