TO DO… • Copy the Challenge Question (C-18) • Copy vocabulary terms: • Delta: A fan shaped area that develops in the flat, low area where a river empties into a body of water. • Model: A representation of a system to help understand how it works. • River channel: A cut in the land through which a river flows. • Sediments: Small bits of earth material such as rocks, minerals and shells. • Read C-18 • Glue in student sheet 28.1

TO DO… • Complete procedure steps 1 to 9 • OPTIONAL: • Add color to your drawing for water • Add high, medium, and low contour lines to your “observation” drawing / step #9 • Don’t make three trips (step #3), bring cup and plastic to back • Carefully examine the river model after step #7 • Discuss: Do you see a hillside, marsh, cliff? • CLEAN-UP: • -Put wet sand in containers in the back • -rinse off plastic pieces, dry, and return to bin at table • Answer analysis 3, 4, and 5. • Complete challenge question. • Complete vocab terms.
