  4. Please spend some time reading the Getting Started page click on National Atlas Instructions

  5. Next return to main page and select some variables like: • Big Brown Bat • Invasive Species Land Cover 1 km resolution National Atlas Instructions

  6. Then select Redraw Map And then choose Map Key RESULT National Atlas Instructions

  7. Try out the Zoom choices Identity • Zoom in and out • Zoom to States • Find • Overview Map National Atlas Instructions

  8. To Capture a Map Method 1 – Shift + Print Screen (recommended method) • Then Paste you screen dump into something like Powerpoint and crop your picture to size • This may take several passes to get • map • plus Overview Map • plus legend National Atlas Instructions

  9. To Capture a Map Method 2 (not recommended method) – Turn-off the pop-up blocker in your browser National Atlas Instructions

  10. Method 2 cont… • Make sure the Overview Map is turned off • Now by setting your cursor to the Identity tool you can copy and paste the map and legend using your right mouse button or the icons that appear in the upper left of the screen National Atlas Instructions

  11. Right Mouse Button Method, Note that the Identity Results won’t appear in result National Atlas Instructions

  12. After turning the Overview Map back on the Right Mouse Button Method also will capture this item. National Atlas Instructions

  13. However to get the Boundaries and Map Reference data you must first “select all” then copy Likewise the Legend and be captured with the Right Mouse Button Method. National Atlas Instructions

  14. Icon Method – only works on map over here I don’t recommend using the Icon method, so this won’t be discussed. National Atlas Instructions
