  1. Warm Up: What parts of the experiment paper do you need help most with? Explain why you need help in this section. Standards Objective Students will be able to construct information and images of memory through a mural and explain what they represent and reinforce the explanation with evidence. • IVB-1.1 Characterize the difference between surface and deep (elaborate) processing. • IVB-2.1 Describe the operation of sensory memory • IVB-2.2 Describe the operation of short-term memory and working memory. • IVB-2.3 Describe the operation of long-term memory. • IVB-3.1 Analyze the importance of retrieval cues in memory. • IVB-3.2 Explain the role that interference plays in retrieval. • IVB-3.3 Relate difficulties created by reconstructive memory processes. • IVB-4.1 Identify the brain structures most important to memory. • IVB-5.1 Identify factors that interfere with memory. • IVB-5.2 Describe strategies for improving memory based on our understanding of • IVB-6.1 Describe the processes that lead to inaccuracies in memory.

  2. Memory • Create a mural on the poster paper representing your section. • Leave a strip on the bottom of your paper where you will explain what is happening in that section of the mural • Add vocabulary words into the mural and define them below

  3. How you will be assessed • Is the vocabulary from the chapter built into the mural? • Are key ideas covered and explained? • Does the mural accurately describe memory? • Does it cover the objectives at the end of the chapter? • Is the mural in color and done nicely?
