  3. Permission to request admission to the US at a Port of Entry (POE), usually an airport. Visas Issued In Shanghai • In CY-08 (January 1, 2008 – December 31, 2008), U.S. Consulate General Shanghai adjudicated 175,000 non-immigrant visa applications and issued nearly 148,000 visas (in all visa categories). Visa Interview Preparation 签证面谈的准备 • Arrive at Westgate Mall no more than 30 minutes before assigned time. 提前预约面谈时间30分钟内到达梅陇镇广场 • Bring as few personal belongings as possible, but be sure to bring: • Reading material • Proof of reasons to return to China – work history, income history, assets, family & social ties, previous travel record, etc. • Information for any possible “check” – resume, publications, information about technology and your sponsor/inviter 尽量少携带个人物品，但确保携带必要资料: • 等候面谈时的消遣读物 • 返回中国的证明 – 工作经历、收入证明、财产证明、家庭及社会关系证明、以前的出国纪录等 • 任何可能被“查询”的资料 – 简历、出版物、所涉及的技术及资助人/邀请方的信息
