Summer 2011 Custodial Update Improvements: • New hardwood floor care system Budget Reductions: • Reduced custodial staff by 1 full time equivalent • Eliminated M&O staff by 2 full time equivalent summer workers Budget Reduction Offsets: • Reduced square feet for summer cleaning because of bond modernization • Extended summer • Investing in equipment

  6. New Hardwood Floor Care System To Improve the Air Indoor Quality MVSD converted to water-based wood floor coating for 3 the last summers. The system we used the previous two (2) summers had mixed reviews regarding durability and maintainability. Our Lead Custodian, Ndiritu Gachuru, sourced an improved system. New system initially required more labor to strip surfaces for adhesion, but will make future summers at Park, Old Mill and MVMS easier. Initial reports on performance with scuff mark removal and durability are positive.
