Member Report from KR(1)

This report outlines significant advancements in South Korea's APAN network, including the setup of GigaPoPs in Seoul and Taejon, and the successful connection of Hanyang University's campus network to APAN. The Ministry of ICT (MIC) has allocated a budget to enhance international linking, with 8M KRW earmarked for connections between Korea and Japan, and 2M KRW for those between Korea and the US. Furthermore, the KOREN Workshop aims to expand participation in APAN, and a memorandum of understanding between APAN-KR and UCAID is nearing completion.
