  1. Plastic Logic QUE proReader By Chris Boos

  2. Features • Windows CE Based e-reader • Size of an 8.5 x 11” Pad of paper • Less than 1/3” thick • Based on plastic rather than silicon and glass (flexible, durable, shatterproof) • Weighs Under 16 ounces (Lighter than many periodicals) • Displays newspapers / publications, books, periodicals, word docs, PDF, powerpoint, excel, etc… • Supports (PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, JPEG, PNG, TEXT, HTML, BMP, RTF, ePub, and eReader formats) • Full Touchscreen • Wireless Enabled (Capable of downloading content either via WiFi or via a cellular modem designed to operate with AT&T’s 3G Network) • Features powerful tools for interacting with and managing the content (Edit / Write on existing documents)

  3. Features • Battery lasts days instead of hours • Uses an electrophorescent monochrome display sourced from E Ink Corp. Electronic paper offers a bright, high-contrast, thin, lightweight display technology that remains legible under "any lighting condition" -- much like newsprint. Once an image has been "printed," no power is needed to hold it, reducing energy requirements by 99 percent compared to LCDs, E Ink claims. (Main power use is only when moving between pages) • The 1st proReader Designed for Business Professionals • Ability to view many documents all in a small comfortable form factor as opposed to a laptop • Full Screen & Tabbed UI Viewing (Bookmarks, Search, Page Jumping) • QUE Online Store powered by Barnes & Noble (Over 1 Million e-books available)

  4. Snapshots / Video

  5. Differences from Competition • QUE stands out in a crowd because it’s a business reader, but it’s also unique for its shatterproof plastic display. All other current eReader devices use rigid panes of glass • Millions of plastic transistors rather than more costly silicon, on a flexible substrate • Makes it lighter, more flexible, & more cost efficient than a glass substrate • Largest touchscreen among eReaders • Wider array of documents supported focusing on business users while still being able to view full books • Expanding on the eReader category, which to date has focused on leisure reading devices and casual users

  6. Premiering January 7th, 2010 at Consumer Electronics Shows in Las Vegas • Price Still Unknown • Will be sold through Barnes & Noble • Full product specifications, availability and pricing of QUE will be announced on January 7, 2010 at CES.
