Who in the World Are You?1 Peter 2:9-10 Our Remarkable Position • You are Connectedin Christ • Literally means people who are set apart or separate, holy ones – Leviticus 19:1-2 • God sets us apart to have a relationship with Him! • Service to God flows out of that relationship! • We are a unique people connected to God and therefore connected to each other • Vertical connection dictates horizontal connection in order to be in obedience.

  23. Titus 2:13-14 (NASB) 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds

Who in the World Are You?1 Peter 2:9-10 Our Resulting Praise • Proclamation of Christ • Because of our identity in Jesus, we become publishers or advertisers of the Gospel • We can do this because we are Illuminated in Christ– called from darkness to His marvelous light to shine in this world! • We have received compassion from Christ so we can likewise can be compassionate • It is a natural response to our salvation but also an honor and privilege to proclaim!

  26. 1 Timothy 1:12-17 (NASB) 12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service, 13even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; 14and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.
