Diabetes impacts significantly on your overall health and well-being, including eye health and eyesight. • People with diabetes do not produce sufficient insulin, the hormone that converts glucose into energy. • This means glucose remains in the blood, producing unhealthily high glucose levels, known as hyperglycaemia.
