Chi dipinge sul pavimento è chiamato anche “madonnaro“, termine che deriva dalla propensione degli “artisti di strada” nel dipingere su pavimenti soggetti religiosi e in particolare la figura della Madonna.Una cosa è certa, Julian Beever non può essere definito sicuramente “madonnaro”. Basta guardare i suoi lavori per rendersene immediatamente conto.Julian trasmette sul pavimento la forza e l’esperienza di un vero artista: gessetti, marciapiedi, fantasia e tanta, tanta padronanza della tecnica dell’anamorfismo. Una tencica per mezzo della quale viene dipinta una figura appositamente distorta ma che guardata da una certa angolazione produce un incredibile effetto illusorio di tridimensionalità.
