  2. There is no such thing as not communicating • Communication::an exchange of information between two or more people; involving the sending and receiving of messages through spoken or written words, facial expression, or gestures. • Types of Communication: • Verbal • Nonverbal

  3. Communication is a complex skill whichseems deceptively easy.

  4. VERBAL COMMUNICATION • The use of words to send & receive messages. (Examples: Speaking , writing)

  5. NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION Sending & receiving messages without using words. (Includes body movements, facial expressions, eye contact, & gestures)

  6. EYE CONTACT Indicates interest, even for a split second more than normal. • Flirting means eyes darting back & forth. • People in love have prolonged looks at each other. • Those in conflict may avoid looking at each other. • Avoiding eye contact shows disinterest or insincere interest.
