  3. Examples of Important Changes(Specific names of events, people, trends, etc. These should “tie together” the 3 boxes from the previous slide. Don’t just give 3 “snapshots.” Explain how the beginning characteristics developed into the middle/end..) 2. 3.

CCOT Hints: • A good way to begin: • “During the time period between (X) and (X) in (wherever), (1,2,3) remained constant while there were significant changes in (4, 5, 6).” • Be specific with the “numbered” items but not overly descriptive. Save the details for your body paragraphs. • Number of changes & continuities need not be equal, as long as you have six (6) total. • You MUST mention the time range and the “what” or “where” in the thesis!!

  7. More CCOT Hints: • Thesis Paragraph Structure: • 1st sentence: time period stolen from the question/prompt. Example: From 600 CE to 1500 CE….blah blah blah…. • 2nd sentence: one specific change and one specific continuity. Not political and social changes coupled with economic continuity, but… Example: Dictatorship evolved into democracy yet Roman Catholic faith remained the prominent faith. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • From 600 CE to 1500 CE changes included dictatorships evolving into republics yet Roman Catholicism continued as the major religion in (X). • As Europe came to economically dominate trans-Atlantic trade, their influence over social customs also expanded. • Although Europe quickly dominated the economic aspects of the Columbian Exchange, their social influence in Africa and the Americas developed more slowly.
