Support Staff Success Stories. I have learnt new skills that allow me to fill in for other staff when absent and to do part of their job to assist them. My success is seeing the children succeed with their goals with my contribution to their education.

My success is seeing the children succeed with their goals with my contribution to their education.
Encouraging children to enjoy reading to a point where they have moved up several levels.
A child I work with is now attending school daily because of the work we do together!
In the last two years I tripled Support Staff Membership.Some are now moving into teaching.
Gained more Teacher support within the school.Wrote to The Board and got their support as well as our parents.

A student that I do Physio and OT work with has managed to accomplish and remember routines and exercises and has excelled at them. He tells me he enjoys his time with me.
Watching the expressions on the faces of our tamariki as they achieve.
Took our bilingual Maori students to the Gold Coast in 2007.
Accompanied a school group of bilingual Maori students to Hawaii.
Have seen the school grow since being built in 2002 from ten classrooms to 18 and a Technology Centre.
Successfully implemented the physical relocation of the library contents, which is a huge job.
I am trained to teach the students reading. I am happy with my input into improving their education.
Getting ALL our Support Staff excited and wanting to join NZEI, recognising the value of belonging!
I have assisted a child with Learning Disabilities feel included in a classroom situation.
Teaching Year 7 & 8 children several different maths strategies and then watching them successfully use the appropriate strategy to solve maths problems in a test situation.
I have helped children to adapt to their first day of school.
Children improving their reading levels and helping ESOL children settle into a learning environment.
I feel that all the children that come into my care in the sick bay leave feeling either, better, comforted or cared for in one way or another.
