Human Resource Development • Training room set up for FETP training. MBDS supported 25 sets of computer, 40 nos. of hlash drive, printer, scanner, projector and screen, multimedia system, digital camera etc.– total value of about 50,000 USD. • Plan to conduct 3 weeks course FETP in end of September 2009. Two participants are going to attend FETP very recently.

Strategy 5: Lab. Capacity; Progress Made by Country • 24 microbiologist and 2 pathologist were trained on updated techniques on laboratory diagnosis of CD. • Expert team assesses the lab and biosafety capacity needs at NHL; but not others. • According to level of facilities type A,b,C labs mapping has been done completely. • WHO regularly supply the lab equipment and reagents, which are in place and no stock outs past 12 months at central level, but stock out may be possible at other levels. • PCR method is used for detecting Pandemic H1N1,Dengue, CK, JE as new technology in Myanmar. • Information sharing w/other XBs, MBDS, or/non-MBDS – partially done
