  1. What is a pronoun? Pronouns are small words that take the place of a noun. They save repetition and prevent sentences from becoming cumbersome. Instead of: “Do you like the Prime Minister? I don't like the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister is too pompous.” With pronouns, we can say: “Do you like the Prime Minister? I don't like him. He is too pompous.” We use “he” and “she” on a daily basis, but people can use a wide range of personal pronouns to describe themselves.
