  2. 2011-2012 Committee Work • Recommended technical revisions to UNOS Bylaws Appendix C (Membership Requirement for Histocompatibility Laboratories) • Developed proposal on updating CPRA • Monitored use of CPRA in the transplant community • Monitored changes resulting from March 2011 update to Appendix 3A Collaboration with other Committees: • Kidney Committee--new kidney allocation system • Pediatric Committee--improving regional sharing for highly sensitized pediatric patients • KPD Workgroup--advising on KPD policy proposal and KPD program operations

  3. 2011-2012 Work Cont. Committee’s work has been/will be presented at several conferences this year: • ATC– Smoothing it Out:  Creating a Sliding Scale for Assigning CPRA-Based Allocation Points--Stewart, D.E., Kucheryavaya, A.Y., Reinsmoen, N.L., Friedewald, J.J. • TTS – Two Year Impact of Calculated PRA (CPRA) on Increasing Transplantation of Sensitized Patients --Reinsmoen, N.L., Baxter-Lowe, L.A., Cecka, J.M., Leffell, M.S., Gore, L.A., Kucheryavaya, A.Y. • ASHI – Centers With a Very Low Percentage of Broadly Sensitized Candidates Can Have a Negative Impact On the Efficiency of Kidney Allocation --Kucheryavaya, A.Y., Reinsmoen, N.L., Baxter-Lowe, L.A., Cecka, J.M. 

  4. 2012-2013 Committee Projects • Substantive Bylaws Rewrite • Updates to Appendix 3A • Addition of DPB and DQA to Waitlist and DonorNet • Continue to monitor use of CPRA in transplant community • Continue to monitor proposal for new kidney allocation system • Continue to monitor KPD

Histocompatibility Bylaws Rewrite • Bylaws governing histocompatibility laboratories are antiquated and need to better reflect current laboratory practices • Conduct crosswalk between ASHI, CAP, and OPTN/UNOS standards/requirements to consider any conflicts • Committee will consider key issues: • Laboratory Directors: Credentialing and Supervision Requirements • Outcome/Performance Measures for Laboratories
