2. Scandinavia Vikings came from the north. Now we call their land Scandinavia. Norway, Sweden and Denmark are countries in Scandinavia.

3. Scandinavia There are many mountains in Norway and Sweden. There are many fiords where the water is deep. Ships sail in the deep water in the fiords.

4. Longships Viking settlers sailed huge distances in their longships

5. Viking Settlement Some Vikings were settlers. They lived in towns and Villages. They built their houses with wood.

6. Longhouses This is a Viking longhouse. Longhouses were often made with wood. It had grass on the roof. A family and their animals lived inside the longhouse. A longhouse was built in the middle of a settlement. Workshops and stores Were built around it

7. Longhouses Some longhouses were made of stone. Stone was used where there were no trees. This house was built near to mountains.

8. Longhouses Beds were along each side of the house. A fire in the centre was used for cooking. The fire kept the house warm.

9. VikingWeapons The Vikings are known as great warriors. This reputation is based on what we know about their weapons and battle tactics. Weapons were used for battle. But axes and knifes were used for craft and making other weapons.
