  17. Professional Appearance • Discretion in style of dress and behavior is essential to the efficient operation of The Martz Group. Employees are, therefore, required to dress in appropriate business attire and to behave in a professional, businesslike manner. • Please use good judgment in your choice of work clothes and wear your uniform properly and remember to conduct yourself at all times in a way that best represents you and The Martz Group.

  18. Absenteeism/Tardiness • The Martz Group expects all employees to assume responsibility for their attendance and promptness. • If you are unable to work because of illness, you must notify your supervisor or your department head prior to the beginning of your start time for office employees and 2½ hours prior to your start time for all others on each day of your absence. Failure to properly notify The Martz Group results in an unexcused absence.

  19. Absenteeism/Tardiness • If you are absent for more than five consecutive workdays, a statement from a physician indicating your fitness for duty is required before you will be permitted to return to work. In such instances, The Martz Group also reserves the right to require you to submit to an examination by a physician designated by The Martz Group at its discretion. • Absenteeism or tardiness that is unexcused or excessive in the judgment of The Martz Group is grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

  20. Drug-Free Workplace • We have created a drug-free workplace in keeping with the spirit and intent of the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988. • Violation of this policy is inconsistent with the behavior expected of employees, and undermines The Martz Group’s ability to operate effectively and efficiently.

  21. Drug-Free Workplace • The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession, sale, or use of a controlled substance in the workplace or while engaged in The Martz Group business off The Martz Group’s premises is strictly prohibited.

  22. Sexual Harassment Policy • We provide an environment free from unreasonable interference, intimidation, hostility and offensive behavior on the part of managers, coworkers, employees and non-employees conducting business on Company’s premises.

  23. Sexual Harassment Policy • Prohibited conduct which results in sexual harassment can be defined in two ways, neither of which will be tolerated by the Company: • Making submission to sexual demands an implicit or explicit term or condition of employment or making decisions affecting someone’s employment or compensation on the basis of whether the person submits to or rejects sexual demands; and

  24. Sexual Harassment Policy • 2. Conduct, which has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment, which conduct is unsolicited and unwelcome by the employee and is regarded as offensive by that employee.

  25. Sexual Harassment Policy • Any employee who believes that they have been sexually harassed by a co-worker, management, or other person conducting business on the Company’s premises or receives information regarding inappropriate behavior by a Martz employee towards an employee of a Martz customer should immediately report such incidents to Ed Steltz, Human Resources, or your immediate supervisor
