PPP & PH Required Internships 10-762-400 (3 or 6 credits) 10-832-499 (6 credits) Internship is a planned, supervised learning experience that presents students with field placements that offer an insider’s view of potential future employment. The challenges are plentiful, requiring students to synthesize and integrate knowledge gleaned from prior course work, laboratory and other scholarly experiences.

Internship Pre-requisites Public Health • Completed 100 hours of credit, including most of your required courses for major • Completed Research Methods as a pre-requisite • Completed most of major requirements with a grade of C or better Policy & Planning • Junior Status with most of your courses for major completed. • Completed Research Methods as a pre-requisite

  7. Internship Structure • Policy & Planning Majors • Choice of 125 hours or 225 hours in an approved worksite • Must be unpaid and completed within the term • Includes bi-weekly in-class or online seminars aimed at enhancing professional skill sets. • Public Health Majors • Required 225 hours in an approved worksite • Must be unpaid and completed within the term • Includes bi-weekly in class or online seminars aimed at enhancing professional skill sets. • Certificate programs may requires pre-approved worksites.
