  2. QUESTION • Do males or females have better reflexes?

  3. Purpose • The purpose of my investigation is to determine if males or females have better reflexes. This is important to know because if someone needs help, and they need to get it done fast, they would want to work with the fastest gender.

  4. HYPOTHESIS • I hypothesize that males will have better reflexes.

  5. Procedure

  6. Materials Chair Meter stick

  7. Variables • Manipulated variable: male and female. • Response variable: response time. • Constant variables: method of testing and meter stick

  8. Directions • Gather materials. • Stand on a chair with a meter stick. • Ask a male to stand in front of the meter stick with his hand just below the stick. Let him know you are going to drop the stick, and he should catch it a quick as possible. • Drop the meter stick at a random time. • Record the response of the catch in centimeters. • Repeat steps 2-5 with a female. • Repeat steps 2-6 for four more trials.

  11. Conclusion • My hypothesis was incorrect. Females had better reflexes then males. Males had an average catch of 26.05 cm. Females had a average catch of 15.05 cm. After doing my project I wonder if I used more grownups if the averages would be different.
